"Wine development release 1.1.17 is now available (http://www.winehq.org/announce/1.1.17)" - вышел релиз Wine 1.1.17 (экспериментальная ветка) в котором отмечено 25 изменений, среди которых:

-  Поддержка джойстика на платформе Mac OS X;-  Реализация  библиотеки iphlpapir (IP Helper) для платформы Solaris; -  Несколько изменений, направленных на улучшение поддержки  64-разрядных приложений;-  Удалена устаревшая поддержка библиотеки потоков LinuxThreads;-  Исправлены проблемы, связанные с прохождением регрессивных тестов в Windows.

системных вызовов в ядре нет. все выполняется в пользовательском пространстве. так мне помнится. из-за этого такие тормоза в гамесах. или причины не в этом?

Я таки думаю что скорее из-за онлайн перекомпиляции инструкций DirectX в инструкции OpenGL, а так же из-за кривой поддержки шейдеров. Хотя что б я понимал.

нет ни какой перекомпиляции.... а вот с шейдерами - да. траблы пока.
кстати, есть игры (старые только), которые работают даже быстрее...
и про юзерспейс - да... мечта микроядерников! :-D

Какие там траблы? HL2 (+все эпизоды), Spore, Flatout2 - все выглядит 1:1 как в винде и работает без тормозов.

Дык.Пиплы из wine делают очень нехилую работу.Changelog'и - внушают.Но тем не менее, HMM-IV работает заметно медленнее.Я честно говоря не понимаю чему там тормозить - 2D без всяких выгибонов вроде и гамеса немолодая.А проц грузит заметно интенсивнее чем в винде почему-то.Но в конечном итоге моего проца и на это хватает с двойным запасом так что это проблема для тех кто купил комп 5 лет назад и более :)

Только в виртуальной машине.
И то, такое использование виндовых прог в крайнем случае, в Вайне много удобней (ну хотя бы телодвижений по запуску меньше).

Я в ужасе. 25 (!!!!!) исправлений?? ЖУТЬ!!!
Вот раньше, открываешь в пятницу winehq.org и радуешься: снова сделали что-то для DirectX! Ура! GDI и GDI+, замечательно! Richedit куча фиксов, это замечательно! ну и пусть что-то ещё и сломали, через два-три релиза пофиксят, а найдётся сразу! Кроме эксклюзивных багов. А сейчас! Не 300, а 25 фиксов за две недели, и фиксят 64-битность (которую бы надо писать ударными темпами, а не чуточку фиксить написанное месяц, и 3 года, назад в виде тысячи строк кода) и регрессионные тесты. Лично мне они вообще не нужны - я их ни разу не запускал и при компиляции они отнимают времени в 2 раза больше, чем сам Wine.
Ну ладно, раз решили ничего не менять а оставлять как есть, то и обновляться тоже смысла нет. И так хорошо и замечательно, а если сбои и есть то пусть они будут традицией, зачем новым голову забивать. Как раз протестирую свои любимые программы, что за полгода учёбы не включал.
Кстати, для d3dx9 есть фиксы на самом деле, если открыть страницу фиксов.

Вы не поверите, нужна всего одна вещь - AutoCAD. Остальное серьёзные компании всегда выпускают в двух вариантах (например Matlab).

Осталось только найти эти приложения.А то для винды нету...
- 64 битный файрфокс?А он хде?Хотя неофициальный порт есть но - стремно неофициальный то.Хрен его знает как там со скоростью исправления дыр.
- 64 бит флеш не замечен как класс.Ни для каких браузеров.
- Единственный 64-бит архивер который я знаю - 7zip.
- Большую часть программ, даже открытых под х64 почему-то не собирают.Той же миранды х64 - нет нифига (может у энтузазистов разве что?).

В общем как по мне - пусть сперва приложения сделают, тогда возня будет иметь смысл.А подсистема для запуска полутора программ - трата времени почем зря.
