DESCRIPTION
Mutt[1] is a text-mode email client ("MUA").
Joost Pol <[email protected]> found a buffer overflow vulnerability
in the mutt program that could be exploited by a remote attacker. By
sending a crafted email message to some user, the attacker can
exploit this vulnerability[2,4] and execute arbitrary commands on the
user's machine. These commands would be executed with the privileges
of the user running the email client.
SOLUTION
All mutt users should apply the upgrade. The updated versions made
available through this advisory have the fix[3] published by the
authors.
