    DESCRIPTION
The utxconfig program provides X server configuration param-
eters for users of Sun Ray enterprise appliance sessions.

    OPTIONS
         The following options are supported:

-a Allows the setting or listing of the default values.
Only "root" may change the default settings.

         -c config-file
Sets a specific config-file to use. The usage of this
option is beyond the scope of this manual.

         -d display
Sets the X display variable that is used in determin-
ing the Sun Ray enterprise appliance session. Other-
wise the DISPLAY environment variable is used. Normal
(in other words, non "root") users must have access
to an X server attached to a Sun Ray enterprise appli-
ance session before they are allowed to read or change
               the settings for that session.

         -D Debug flag.

-e Erases any specific settings for the session. All set-
tings return to their default values.

         -f file
Specifies a file to be used in conjunction with -o or
               -i.

-i Populates the system settings database from a comma
delimited text record format such as the one produced
by -o. Input is taken from the standard input by
               default, unless -f is specified.

-l Lists out the current settings for the session. If no
specific values have been set for the session, the
               default value is printed.

         -L geom
Lists out the X server screen device start-up argu-
ments for the user preferred geometry set with -R or
for geom if none is set. The use of this option is
beyond the scope of this manual.

         -m multiscreen
Enables or disables multiscreen mode for X session
startup. By default, if a session is started on a mul-
tihead terminal group, then the session starts in mul-
tiscreen mode to match the terminal group with an
appropriate number of screens and geometry. Specify
"off" to disable this behavior, in which case the ses-
sion only starts on a single terminal with one screen.

-o Output all system settings in a comma-separated text
record format. Intended for use with -i. Outputs to
standard output unless -f is specified.

         -p pcolor
Parameter that specifies the level of support for the
PseudoColor (8-bit) visual in the X server. The Pseu-
doColor visual is not enabled by default. The accepted
values for pcolor are "off", "on", and "default". A
pcolor value of "off" will disable the PseudoColor
visual. A pcolor value of "on" will enable the Pseu-
doColor visual, but the TrueColor visual (24-bit) will
remain the default. A pcolor value of "default" will
enable the PseudoColor visual and make it the default
visual, although the TrueColor visual will still be
               available.

         -r res
Parameter that specifies a resolution (number of pix-
els) that the X server should provide for the session.
The format of res is "WIDTHxHEIGHT", for example
"1280x1024". There are restrictions on the possible
widths and heights that can be specified, which are
               enforced by utxconfig.

         -R geom
Specify a preferred screen geometry in the form COLSx-
ROWS. At X server startup this geometry overrides the
terminal group geometry on which the session is
               started. See -m.

         -s asize
Enable or disable the selection of a resolution that
best matches the resolution capabilities of the termi-
nal on which the X session is started. This may be
different (and overrides) the resolution set with -r.
By default, the best selection is chosen. To disable
               this behavior, specify "off".

         -S screen-order
Specify a preferred screen number order for the
session's screen group. The order must be a legal for
standard Xsun (Sun Ray X server) screen placement.

         -t token
Allows the setting of a specific token to use. The use
of this option is beyond the scope of this manual.

         -x xinerama
Enable or disable XINERAMA extension (not supported
under the Solaris 2.6 operating environment; see man
page for Xserver(1) on Solaris 8). By default,
XINERAMA is disabled. To enable use of XINERAMA under
Solaris 7 or 8 operating environment, specify "on". To
revert to default behavior, specify "off".

    EXAMPLES
Example 1: To enable the PseudoColor visual on a 1024x768
         screen, use:

         utxconfig -r 1024x768 -p on

Example 2: To configure a multiscreen group having two
screens with screen 1 to left of screen 0, use:

         utxconfig -R 2x1 -S 1,0

operating environment with Sun Ray server software 1.2)

    NOTES
The settings are consulted only when an X server process is
started. Therefore, it is necessary to log out and log in
again for changes to take effect.

The settings are actually maintained on the basis of an
authentication token and do not remain specific to a single
         X display number.
