NAME vserver - Solaris Management Console server SYNOPSIS /usr/sadm/bin/vserver [ options ] DESCRIPTION vserver is the Solaris Management Console server. It is the back end to front end console, smc(1M). It provides tools for the console to download, and performs common services for the console and its tools to use, such as authentica- tion, authorization, logging, and persistence. OPTIONS -p port Specify the port on which the server will listen for client connections. If this argument is not specified, the default port, 898, will be used. Multiple instances of the server may be run concurrently, but must be run on different ports with the use of this option. -Jjavaoption Pass an option through to the Java VM. For example, example% vserver -J-Dcom.example.boolean=true For a more detailed description of this option, please see smc(1M). vserver also takes word arguments which may be used to retrieve information from a running server, or to manipulate its state. The recognized arguments are start This will start the server if it is not already running. stop This will cause the server to stop if it is running. status This will print out a status message, including the ver- sion number of the server. If no argument is given, start is assumed. NOTES These commands will only succeed if run as the user as which the currently running server is executing. SEE ALSO smc(1M), smcappadm(1M)
