Имеется IceCast версии icecast2-2.2.0_3,1 установленный на FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE.
По статье, взятой с этого сайта (http://www.opennet.me/base/sys/icecast_setup.txt.html) была произведена попытка поднять сервер.
что было изменено: вместо /var/icecast,  я использую дирректорию по умолчанию /usr/loca/share/icecast

всё остальное делалось точно так же.

Результат.
Приведённый для сервера конфиг полностью не рабочий - не может отпарсить его ни как.
Пришлось модифицировать исходный icecast.xml.sample.
вот его вид теперь:

И никак. Файлы я создал - всё то же самое. Что только не делал: и chmod и chown - не помогает.
Где тут винтик в граблях на которые я наступил... )
