Итак проблема:

Хотел поставить VMware.
Скачал с сайта "бесплатный" VMware-server-2.0.0-122956.x86_64.rpm
Установил.
/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl ошибка unicodeSimpleTypes.c:2315.
Еще и ругался на неправильный серийник, хотя мне его с сайта дали :))
Попробовал несколько способов с гугла , не помогло...

И тут стал вылетать GNOME при входе в систему...
(у одного из юзеров еще пропала кнопочка "command" запуска главного меню из панельки задач)

Предполагаю, что перестановка кодировок приведит к тмоу что сейчас gdm как-то не правильно отрабатывает идентификацию юзеров.
Как бы настроить систему полностью на анг.язык ? (Хотелось бы добиться чтоб вылеты прекратились)
